Jaxson Dart Is Done for the Regular Season — Here's What Changes for the Giants

The Giants' quarterback situation is no longer a week-to-week injury watch.

Jaxson Dart will miss the rest of the 2026 regular season after suffering a serious left knee injury Monday night against the Rams. The Giants announced Wednesday that Jameis Winston will take over as the starter.

That changes the fantasy outlook for almost every important player in New York's offense.

It does not change all of them in the same direction.

Winston can keep the passing volume alive

Winston struggled after replacing Dart on Monday, completing 11 of 27 passes for 111 yards with an interception.

That performance shouldn't be ignored, but fantasy managers also know what Winston's career has looked like when he gets extended starting opportunities.

He is willing to throw aggressively.

That creates volatility for the offense, but it can also preserve fantasy volume for receivers. The Giants are unlikely to become a low-volume passing offense simply because Dart is unavailable.

For Malik Nabers, that's important.

Nabers' ceiling takes a hit because losing the starting quarterback is never ideal, but Winston has historically been willing to feed his top targets. Nabers should remain in fantasy lineups if his shoulder issue from Monday doesn't become a larger concern.

Isaiah Likely could remain heavily involved

Likely led the Giants with five catches for 33 yards after Dart exited Monday.

That doesn't guarantee another five-catch game, but it shows Winston was comfortable working the middle of the field when the offense broke down.

Tight ends can benefit from a quarterback change when they become the easier answer against pressure or underneath coverage. Likely's role is already large enough that fantasy managers shouldn't downgrade him simply because Winston is starting.

The touchdown ceiling may be lower if New York struggles to finish drives, but the target floor can remain useful.

Cam Skattebo loses efficiency, not necessarily volume

Skattebo is the player whose fantasy outlook becomes more complicated.

A weaker passing offense can mean fewer scoring opportunities and more crowded boxes. That's bad.

But a backup quarterback can also push a team toward the running game, especially against Tennessee this week. Skattebo handled 12 carries Monday despite the Giants spending most of the game trailing.

He should continue seeing enough work to remain in the RB2/flex conversation.

The concern is that he may need more touches to produce the same fantasy score if New York's offense becomes less efficient.

Is Winston a fantasy add?

In normal one-quarterback leagues, Winston is a matchup streamer rather than a priority add.

In superflex and two-quarterback formats, he needs to be rostered immediately because he now has a path to starts for the remainder of the fantasy regular season.

He gets Tennessee in Week 3, which at least gives him a reasonable first matchup.

What fantasy managers should do

Keep Nabers in lineups if healthy.

Keep Likely in the TE1 conversation.

Treat Skattebo as a volume-driven RB2/flex whose touchdown expectation has taken a hit.

And in superflex leagues, Winston should be one of the week's highest-priority quarterback adds if he somehow remains available.

Fantasy takeaway: Dart's injury lowers the Giants' overall offensive ceiling, but Winston's aggressive style can keep the passing-game volume alive. The biggest downgrade is to efficiency, not necessarily opportunity.
