2026 Fantasy Football Draft Strategy From Pick 8: 10-Team PPR

Pick 8 gives me a really useful early structure.

I pick at:

1.08 → 2.03 → 3.08 → 4.03

I don't have to wait long after my first pick, which means I can think of the first two selections as a pair.

1.08: CeeDee Lamb

I'm taking CeeDee Lamb.

Dallas showed last season that the offense can support multiple fantasy options simultaneously.

CeeDee still had:

75 receptions for 1,077 yards

despite playing only 14 games.

George Pickens had 1,429 yards.

Jake Ferguson caught 82 passes.

That's actually a positive for me.

I don't need CeeDee to account for 40% of the offense.

I need Dallas to throw enough and score enough for his elite talent to win.

2.03: Try to Add an RB

My targets:

• James Cook if he falls • Rashee Rice • Saquon Barkley • Derrick Henry • Chase Brown • Kenneth Walker III

My preferred structure is CeeDee + RB.

Why?

Because it gives me balance without sacrificing value and means I don't have to chase RB later.

But if Rice falls, I'll take Rice.

It's still value first.

3.08 / 4.03: This Is a Great Player Pocket

Targets:

• A.J. Brown • Josh Jacobs • Javonte Williams • George Pickens • Tetairoa McMillan • Zay Flowers • DeVonta Smith • Josh Allen • Travis Etienne

Current Usage Matters More Than Old Coach Comparisons

Javonte and Pickens are perfect examples.

I don't need to find some Brian Schottenheimer player from 2015 who looks vaguely similar.

We have 2025.

Pickens caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.

Dallas already showed the system can make him highly productive.

That's much better evidence.

This is also where I'll take a TE if the value is right, but I don't feel pressure to solve it.

If I'm already strong at WR, RB/TE becomes the tiebreaker.

If I'm RB-heavy, take the receiver.

The roster should now influence close decisions.

9.08 / 10.03: Worthy and the QB Tier

Xavier Worthy + Bieniemy

I like this historical connection as long as we don't turn it into "Worthy is the next Tyreek."

He isn't.

The useful comparison is the role traits.

During Bieniemy's first Kansas City run, Tyreek Hill was used with:

• motion • speed across the formation • vertical routes • manufactured opportunities in space

Those concepts fit Worthy's best trait: elite speed.

Bieniemy returning gives me more confidence Kansas City can find ways to intentionally create Worthy touches.

11.08 / 12.03: Jake Ferguson Becomes a Great TE Solution

Targets:

• Jake Ferguson • T.J. Hockenson • Josh Downs • Isaiah Likely • Dalton Kincaid • Jordan Mason • Aaron Jones

Ferguson's 2025 Role

Ferguson caught:

82 passes

for:

600 yards and 8 touchdowns

last season.

Even more interesting: seven of those touchdowns came from inside the opponent's 19-yard line.

That's the kind of role I want from a TE after waiting.

I don't need Ferguson to become CeeDee.

I need dependable targets and red-zone involvement.

If I already drafted CeeDee, I'm also fine using Ferguson with him because their roles are different enough.

13.08 / Round 14

Possible QB if I've waited:

• Kyler Murray • Tyler Shough • Jared Goff • Baker Mayfield

Skill-player shots:

• Chris Rodriguez Jr. • De'Zhaun Stribling • Denzel Boston • Juwan Johnson • KC Concepcion • Makai Lemon • Dolphins pass catchers • Raiders pass catchers

By this point, I want ceiling rather than floor.

Round 15: Kicker

My tier:

• Brandon Aubrey • Cameron Dicker • Harrison Mevis • Ka'imi Fairbairn • Will Reichard

Aubrey fits particularly well with a Dallas-heavy article, but I'm not drafting him because I drafted CeeDee.

There is no need to stack a kicker.

I simply think Aubrey's range makes him the top option.

If another manager reaches, take Dicker or another kicker in the tier.

Round 15 is late enough that kicker finally makes sense.

Round 16: Defense

My Week 1 options:

• Chargers vs. Cardinals • Jaguars vs. Browns • Steelers vs. Falcons • Cowboys at Giants • Seahawks vs. Patriots • Titans vs. Jets

Again, don't "stack" Cowboys D/ST because you drafted CeeDee.

Offense and D/ST don't create the kind of correlation we're chasing.

Take the best matchup available.

Then stream the position.

The purpose of waiting until Round 16 is simple:

I would rather have 13 chances at RB/WR/QB/TE value than sacrifice one of those chances for a defense I might drop seven days later.
