D.J. Moore and Keon Coleman Are Both Game-Time Decisions — Khalil Shakir Is the Bills WR to Trust

D.J. Moore and Keon Coleman are both questionable for Buffalo's matchup with the Chargers. With both facing game-time decisions, Khalil Shakir offers the cleanest Week 3 role in Josh Allen's receiving corps.

Buffalo could enter Week 3 without two of its top wide receivers.

D.J. Moore is questionable with the AC joint sprain he suffered in Week 2. Keon Coleman is also questionable with an ankle injury after missing the first two practices of the week and returning on a limited basis Friday.

Bills coach Joe Brady said both will be game-time decisions.

That uncertainty makes Khalil Shakir the Buffalo receiver fantasy managers can trust most before kickoff.

Moore's shoulder creates contact risk

Moore returned to practice on a limited basis Wednesday while wearing a non-contact jersey, missed Thursday and returned for limited work Friday.

An AC joint sprain can be difficult for a receiver because the position requires repeatedly absorbing contact and landing on the shoulder.

If active, Moore remains a flex option because Josh Allen gives every regular Buffalo receiver scoring upside. But active status does not make the shoulder irrelevant.

Coleman has his own problem

Coleman caught all six of his targets for 63 yards after Moore left Week 2. Then the ankle injury appeared.

He missed Wednesday and Thursday before returning Friday, and Brady said he too will be decided near kickoff.

The good news is Buffalo plays at 1 p.m. ET, so managers will have clarity before most games begin.

Shakir has the cleanest path

Shakir doesn't need both players to sit to have value.

He already has a regular role, and any absence above him only concentrates Josh Allen's targets further.

If Moore and Coleman both play, Shakir remains a usable flex. If one sits, his projection improves. If both sit, he becomes one of the stronger receiver starts on the early slate.

Fantasy takeaway: Buffalo's injury uncertainty doesn't require guessing. Shakir is healthy, already involved and attached to Josh Allen. He's the Bills receiver with the safest Week 3 projection.
